Daisy Ruth Jones

Daisy Ruth Jones, 90, of Ballinger passed away Monday, December 20, 2010 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

She was born August 11, 1920 in Ballinger to Thomas Wesley and Ida (Parker) Malone. She and J. Sam Jones were married August 7, 1937 in Ballinger. For over forty years she worked with her husband at their own local business and helped on the farm. Later in life she was employed as a nurses’ aid. She was a member of the Baptist church.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, her eight brothers and sisters, a grandson, and a son-in-law, Vernon Jonas.

Daisy is survived by her daughter, Louise Jonas; her sons, Billy Jones and wife, Patsy, and Don Jones and wife, Barbara, all of Ballinger; and a special sister-in-law, Mary Bell Malone of Ft. Worth. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, December 22 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home Chapel with Lynn Smith officiating. Burial will take place in Ballinger Evergreen Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Lanny Jonas, Michael Jonas, John Jonas, Dewayne Jones, Kevin King and Clay Bullock.
