Milton August Redman, 86, of Ballinger passed away Friday afternoon, December 31, 2010 at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Milton was born on May 30, 1924 in Ballinger, to Gus R. and Christine (Rose) Redman. He proudly served his country during WW II with the US Army, being one of the troops that stormed the beach at Normandy. He was involved in many campaigns and received several medals including 5 Bronze Stars. Returning to the Ballinger area, he married Mamie “Jo” Berry on June 15, 1946. He was a roustabout for Lone Star Gas for over 36 years.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gladys Russell; a brother, Gus Redman, Jr.; and a great granddaughter Jenna Mansell
He is survived by his wife, Mamie “Jo” Redman of Ballinger; son Dickie Redman and wife, Trudy of San Angelo; daughter, Kay Mansell and husband, Kyle of Ballinger; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and brothers, Curtis Redman of Abilene, and Edward Redman of Odessa.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, January 2 at Lange Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, January 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Ballinger with Max Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Old Runnels Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Ballinger or a favorite charity.
