Dorcie Green, 91, of Ballinger passed away Sunday morning, February 27, 2011 at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehab Center.
She was born on November 4, 1919 in Ryan, Oklahoma to Carey S. and Nellie (Lee) Fowler. She married Glen Doyle Green on November 2, 1940 in Floydada. They moved to Ballinger in 1951, and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1985.
Dorcie worked as a nurses’ aide and was a long-time, faithful member of Seventh Street Baptist Church and will be fondly remembered by church members.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, February 28 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Seventh Street Baptist Church with David Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and all her brothers and sisters.
Dorcie is survived by her daughters, Pam King and husband, Kelly, of Ballinger, Janice Biddy and husband, Gary, of Marble Falls, JoAnn Green of Sunset, Mary Cook and husband, Steve, of Ballinger, and Glenda Ward of Bowie. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 17 ½ great-grandchildren, and 1 ½ great-great grandchildren.
