Irmatha Haliburton

Irmatha Haliburton, 92, of Ballinger passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Runnels County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

She was born June 18, 1918 in Henderson County, Texas to Ira Lee and Nora Bell (Wood) Talley. Irmatha and Billie Jack Haliburton were married March 14, 1942 in Green Cove Springs, Florida. He preceded her in death December 7, 1995. She became a licensed cosmetologist, but her working career took a different direction. For several years she was employed as a bookkeeper at the First National Bank of Ballinger, retiring at age 65. Irmatha loved to fish, especially trotline or Gulf Coast fishing.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Hortense Morris, Odessa Norris, Juanita Godwin; and brother, Chester Talley.

Irmatha is survived by several nieces and nephews, including local nieces, Marsha Blair and Elaine McDaniel.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, March 18 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19 at 2:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ballinger Evergreen Cemetery.
