Oscar Jesus Ruiz

Oscar Jesus Ruiz, 56, of Paint Rock passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at his residence.

He was born December 10, 1954 in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico to Pedro and Julia (Lucio) Ruiz. Oscar and Norma Yolanda Mata were married in Zaragoza on April 15, 1978. For 23 years he had been employed as custodian and bus driver for Paint Rock ISD and was easily recognized by all the kids because of his cap that he always wore and his infectious smile.

Oscar is survived by his wife, Norma Ruiz of Paint Rock; and his sons, Oscar Ruiz, Jr. and wife, Toni, of San Angelo, Juan Carlos Ruiz, Sr. and wife, Sara, of Ballinger, and Rudy Ruiz of Paint Rock. Also surviving are siblings, Jose Ruiz, Argelia De Luna, Isabel Morado, Pedro Ruiz, and Rejinaldo Ruiz; grandchildren, Dominic, Isabel, and Juan Carlos, Jr. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Rosary will be recited Monday, April 4 at 6:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home Chapel in Ballinger. Funeral service and burial will be held at a later date in Zaragosa, Mexico.

Oscar was a devoted husband, father, and grand father and was a great friend to all. He was a strong presence in Paint Rock and will be dearly missed.
