Staci Belk, 39, loving wife and mother, passed on to her eternal home on Wednesday afternoon, April 6, 2011 as the result of an automobile accident near Rowena, Texas.
Staci Taylor was born November 9, 1971 in Houston, Texas. She was a 1990 graduate of Ballinger High School and received her teaching degree from Angelo State University. She had taught at Paint Rock ISD and more recently was a favorite substitute teacher at Miles ISD.
She married her soul mate, Heath Belk, on July 6, 1990. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Heather Eryn Belk (who preceded her in death in 2006) and Harli Elyse Belk of the home.
Staci will be remembered for her tireless efforts as a 4-H Adult Leader in Concho County where she was actively involved with Harli’s 4-H projects and the livestock shows as well as for her desire to bring out the best in her students. Her calming demeanor made her a favorite among the children. She was instrumental in reforming the Eola 4-H Club and loved to be called “Mom” by all the kids she helped. She was a member of the Concho County Jr. Livestock Board.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Heath, their daughter Harli, her parents, Bobbie and Doug Conley of Paint Rock, as well as a very special aunt and uncle, Ann and Kenny White of Ballinger. Also, her brother, Mack Henry of Paint Rock, a sister Kim Coghlan, and special cousins, Kelli White Franke and her husband Craig and their children, Tyler, Bryce and Chase; Kevin his wife Kristi and their children Kody and Kaitlyn, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Also surviving are her in-laws, Allen and Elsie Belk of Norton, Harley and Michelle Belk and their children Colton, Ashton, Macy, Braden and Beau of Norton, Barbara and Keith Newland of Bryan, and Armer and Barbara Earwood of Sonora.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, April 8 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Funeral service will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Ballinger, and burial will follow at Eola Cemetery in Eola with Matt Miles officiating.
Pallbearers will be John Hoermann, Larry Book, Russell Hampton, Jeremy Taylor, Mike Taylor, Jeremy Sharkey, Craig Hill and Ronald Niehues.
Donations may be made to Eryn Belk Scholarship Fund, c/o Paint Rock Bank or a favorite charity.
