Robert (Bob) Tyree passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Colfax County Nursing Home in Springer, New Mexico. He was 83.
He was born July 6, 1927 in Ballinger, Texas to Roy and Allie Tyree. He was a farmer/rancher all his life and loved to take care of his cattle. He married Jean McAden of Ballinger, and they were together until her death in 2008.
Bob and Jean were members of the Valley View Baptist Church until it disbanded. He was the song leader in that church for many years. After the little church disbanded, they moved to the Seventh Street Baptist Church where he also led the singing for a few years. Music was a constant joy for him, and he instilled his love of music in his daughter, Tracee. They sang together and performed many special songs at churches they attended. Bob was a kind and gentle man who loved his family, and he was a very special "PAWPAW" to his two grandsons and one granddaughter.
He is survived by his daughter Tracee Craig and her husband, Dwayne, of Las Vegas, NM and by his only brother, Fred Tyree and his wife, Brenda, of Ballinger. He leaves behind his three grandchildren, Jason Craig and wife Trish, Adam Craig and wife Lacy, and Kellee Jean Lee Craig all of Las Vegas, NM. He also has four great-grandchildren, Cole, Cody, Cade, and Tyler Craig all of Las Vegas, NM. His love, laughter, smile, and sweet, wonderful spirit will be missed by all.
Visitation will be Monday, April 25 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 26 at 10:00 am at the Old Runnels Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his wife and his parents.
Pallbearers will be Sammy Brown, James Rosser, Jason Craig, Adam Craig, Bobby Jennings, and Morgan Brown. Honorary pallbearer will be Jay Weatherby.
