Michael Bernard Ocker

June 25, 1948 — May 8, 2011

Michael Bernard Ocker, 62, of Rowena passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo from complications of diabetes.

He was born June 25, 1948 in Ballinger to Gilbert and Leona Matilda (Lange) Ocker. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Rowena and attended Angelo State University. Michael lived and farmed in the Rowena area all his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Rowena Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tommy Ocker; and a sister, Sharon Wilde.

Michael is survived by brothers, David Ocker and wife, Gwen, of Ballinger, and James Ocker and wife, Charlyn, of San Angelo; sisters, Janet Minzenmayer and husband, Dennis, of Rowena, and Joyce Cmerek and husband, Eugene, of Miles. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be recited Tuesday, May 10 at 7:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 11 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Ariel Lagunilla celebrating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Ocker, Steve Ocker, Darrell Cmerek, Paul Minzenmayer, Stephen Ocker, and Fred Lippe. John Minzenmayer will be honorary pallbearer.
