Lovey Lee "Bub" Caffey

Lovey Lee “Bub” Caffey, 71, of Winters passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

Bub was born on April 14, 1940 in Ballinger to Willie T. and Martha A. (Muncy) Caffey.
He served with the US Army prior to marrying Carolyn Witt on June 14, 1968 in Ballinger. He was a general contractor in the oilfield and later retired from the Texas Department of Corrections. He was a member of Bluff Creek Cowboy Church in Drasco.

Bub was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Earlene Alexander.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Caffey of the home; a son, Mitchell Caffey; daughter, Marci Campopiano and husband, Paul; grandson, Jack; and granddaughters, Jill, Julia, and Jamie. A brother, Bill and wife, Doris, and a sister, Jean O’Dell and husband, Kenneth, and many nieces and nephews also survive.

There will be a time of visitation for family and friends at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger on Sunday, May 15 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 16 at Lange Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Morcy Grun officiating. Burial will follow at Ballinger Evergreen Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial be made to the American Heart Association or a favorite charity.
