Ruby Louola Johnson

December 1, 1932 — May 26, 2011

Ruby Louola Johnson went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, May 26, 2011. She passed away at the Coleman Healthcare Center in Coleman, Texas at age 78.

She was born December 1, 1932 to Willie and Elizabeth Belk of Winters, Texas, both of whom preceded her in death. Ruby married L. V. Johnson of Winters in March of 1947. The family moved to Ballinger in 1957. L. V. preceded Ruby in death August 3, 2010. They had eight children, six of whom have preceded Ruby in death, Phillip, Bobby, Larry, Paul, and two who were stillborn. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Willie Rene, and twin brothers who were stillborn.

Ruby was a faithful wife, mother, and member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and Jesus Christ Church. She sang in the choir, worked with the youth, was one of the mothers of Jesus Christ Church, volunteered at Head Start, and was a member of VFW Auxiliary.

Ruby leaves to cherish her memory one son, Charles Johnson and his wife, Onnie, of Ballinger; one daughter, Rosalee Smith and her husband, Kenneth, of Grand Prairie; one brother, Willie Belk, Jr. of Winters; one sister-in-law, Louise Shaw of Dallas; and an adopted son, Gene Clack and his wife, Sandra, of Ballinger. She also leaves to cherish her memory many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and associates.

Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, May 30 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 31 at 2:00 pm at Jesus Christ Church in Ballinger with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Hutchings, Christian Hutchings, Corey Calvin, Larry Carson, Jimmy Carson, and Wayne Juarez. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Owens, Steve Vasquez, and Michael Manley.

Ruby was loved, and she will be missed, but God loved and needed her more. We love you, Ruby.
