Trinidad (Trine) Soliz Nunez, 91, of Ballinger passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
Trine was born July 20, 1920 in Rowena to Tirso and Precilliana (Velasquez) Soliz. As a young girl, she lived in Pearvalley and in Brady where she met and married Juan Nunez on October 5, 1940.
Trine was known as Ama to all her grandchildren and their spouses, and even some of her friends. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and a friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a son, Johnny Nunez, Jr.; sisters, Petra Rendon, Vica Cortez, Martha Garcia, and Juanita Talamantes.
Trine is survived by daughters, Alice Galvan and husband, Julio, of Ballinger, Mary Mata and husband, George, of San Angelo, Delia Hernandez and husband, Raymond, Kay Jaramillo and husband, Conrad, all of Ballinger, Julie Flores of San Angelo, Hopie Gonzales and husband, Jimmy, of Rowlett; sisters, Gabriella Martinez of Brownfield, and Petra Pena of Plainview. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Danny Nunez, Michael Mata, Jimmy Galvan, Randy Hernandez, Patrick Gonzales, and Jeremiah Galvan. Honorary pallbearers are Ben Albarado, Michael Cantu, Juan Sanchez, Arturo Armendariz, Ric Palma, Isaac Albarado, Chris Galvan, D.J. Nunez, Anthony Sanchez, Dorian Aussenac, Tony Clark, Lawrence Jaramillo, Justin Carrillo, Julian Hernandez, Abram Cantu, Devon Jackson, Aidan Jackson, Aidan Gonzales, Jayden Sanchez, Chase Galvan, and Christian Aussenac.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Ballinger Hospice and the staff of Ballinger Home Health, especially Carol Jennings, Connie Davenport, Cynthia Martinez, and Cecilia Galvan for the devoted time and care they showed to our mother.
Rosary will be recited Tuesday, July 26 at 7:00 pm at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger. A celebration of the mass of the resurrection will be Wednesday, July 27 at 10:00 am at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church with Fr. Hubert Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Ballinger.
