Victor Alfonc Hoelscher

Victor Alfonc Hoelscher, age 77, of Olfen passed away Friday evening August 5, 2011 in an Austin, TX hospital.

Victor was born on April 19, 1934 to Ed and Josephine Hirt Hoelscher in Olfen. He married Germaine Kalina on July 14, 1956 in Rowena. He farmed and ranched in the Olfen area all of his life. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and served as a board member and past president of the Olfen ISD for 20 years.

He enjoyed making sausage and processing deer. He was an avid reader of history books, especially western books. His greatest love was friends and family and playing checkers with the grandkids.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Reynold Hoelscher, Sarah Halfmann, Isidore Hoelscher, Andy Hoelscher, Norine Kujawski and Mary Buxkemper; and a brother-in-law, Harry Kalina.

He is survived by his wife, Germaine, three sons, Rick Hoelscher and Judy McKinney of Ballinger, Galen Hoelscher and Leslie of Talpa and Scott Hoelscher and Samantha of Norris, IL and a daughter, Denise Zak and husband, David of San Angelo; grandchildren, Amanda Foster and Mark, Aaron Hoelscher and Amber, Stephen Hoelscher, Bryce Zak, Shelby Zak and Emily Hoelscher; and great grandchildren, Katelyn Foster, and Raelye Hoelscher. A brother, Joe Hoelscher and wife, Elvera and three sisters, Colette Schraeder, Lorine Braden, and Genevieve Halfmann also survive.

Rosary will be recited Sunday, August 7, 2011 at 7:00 pm at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 8 at 10:00 am also at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will take place in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
