Kathryn Caroline Mccoy

Kathryn Caroline McCoy, 82, of Ballinger passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011 in Ballinger at the home of her loving niece, Marlis Ashton.

She was born March 14, 1929 in Lubbock, Texas to Oscar F. and Hester (Padgett) Sensabaugh. Her parents preceded her in death. She attainted her master’s degree and made full use of it, as she was involved in education at all levels. In addition to several years of classroom teaching, she was an energy education specialist for western Tennessee. A woman far ahead of her time, she was active in the solar energy movement, even participating in some “sun ray-ces.”

Kathryn is survived by her children, Paul McCoy of Madison, Wisconsin, James McCoy of Fort Worth, Melissa Hartzell of Fort Worth, and Megan McCoy of Portland, Oregon. Also surviving is a brother Sam Sensabaugh of Port Lavaca, and several loving, local family members.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger.
