James Franklin Steele

James Franklin Steele, 77, of Ballinger passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011
at Ballinger Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 6, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Elmer and Lena (Faucett) Steele. He received his college degree from the University of Miami. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Jim and Bonnie Meninger were married in 1968 in Ashley, Ohio, and the couple has lived in Ballinger since 1981. He taught high school in Ohio for two years, then was employed as local service manager for Verizon, retiring after 30 years with that company.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Raymond Steele; and a sister, Pauline Wormeck.

Jim is survived by his wife, Bonnie Steele of Ballinger; sons, Phillip James Steele, Jonathan Andrew Steele and wife Sonia; a daughter, Kathleen Ann Crenshaw; and five grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, September 13th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger.
