Virginia Eggemeyer Deshayes

Virginia DeShayes died peacefully in her home on Friday evening, October 14th, 2011 in Pasco, Washington. She was born Virginia Marie Gruber on July 13, 1934 in Rowena Texas. Virginia spent many of her years in the Olfen/Rowena area until she moved to Pasco, Washington where she resided the past 11 years.


Virginia loved her home in the Northwest. She spent much of her time outdoors in her garden and tending to her beautiful roses. She loved taking weekend trips with her son, Curtis, to the cheese factory, the farmers market, outdoor concerts, family trips to Orcus Island, and she especially loved visiting Leavenworth, WA. to attend the Christmas lighting festival.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lena and Frank Gruber, her brother Wilbert, and one son-n-law, Donald Van Tries.

Virginia is survived by her six children, Nick Eggemeyer and wife, Dallas, of Soddy Daisy,TN; Curtis Eggemeyer of Pasco, WA; Ty Eggemeyer and wife, Leslie, of Pittsburgh, PA; Rebecca Moyer of Dallas; Bonnie Favor and Gena Van Tries both of Houston. She is also survived by eight loving grandchildren: Joseph, Jasmine & Jimmy Eggemeyer, Erika & Kirsten Eggemeyer, John and Travis Favor, Adam Moyer, and four great-grandchildren.


Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, TX, which will include a rosary service from 7:00 to 7:15 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas with burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nick Eggemeyer, John Bateson, David Halfmann, John Favor, Travis Favor, and Adam Moyer.
