Erika Smith

Erika Smith, 73, of Ballinger passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas.

She was born April 7, 1938 in Germany to Max and Elsa (Faisst)Rimbach, both of whom preceded her in death. Erika and Jerry H. Smith were married October 16, 1970 in Santa Ana, California. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, and she especially enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and watching birds.

Erika is survived by her husband, Jerry, of the home; son, Everett Jackson of Garden Grove, California; daughters, Eva Gonzales of Perris, California, and Susie Mamola of Round Rock, Texas. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and the family dogs, Buddy, Michael, and Petey.

Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, November 2 at 10:00 am at Lange Funeral Home prior to the funeral service, which will begin at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Lynn Smith will officiate, and burial will be in Ballinger Evergreen Cemetery.
