Rose Marie Franke

Rose M. Franke, 81, of Ballinger, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at her home.

The oldest of eight children, Rose was born on December 22, 1929 in Olfen, TX to Anton J. and Leona (Niehues) Franke. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School and worked for a time at Keel Drug and Runnels County Tax Office. She then went to work for Ballinger ISD tax office for over 41 years before retiring as the Deputy Tax Collector.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Leon Franke, an infant brother, Anthony Franke, an infant sister, Leona Franke, a sister-in-law, Floy Franke, a brother-in-law, Duane Weller, and an infant nephew, Richard Rollwitz.

She is survived by her brothers, Wilfred Franke of Christoval, and Harold Franke and wife, Dolores of Rowena; her sisters, Eileen Weller of Merced, CA and Sylvia Rollwitz and husband, Billy of Rowena. Her aunt, Lucille Franke, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many cousins also survive.

Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Lange Funeral Home Chapel. A Christian graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21 at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rowena. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Ariel Lagunilla officiating
