Virginia Arlette Cook

Virginia Arlette Cook, 84, of Ballinger passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 at her residence.

She was born November 13, 1927 in Albany, Texas to James Roger and Leslie Lee (Poe) Whitworth. She married J. L. “Bill” Cook on June 12, 1946 in Ballinger. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1999. She was a member of 7th Street Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and by a son, Jimmy Lee Cook in 1982.

Arlette is survived by her two sons, Stephen Cook and wife, Mary, and Alvin Cook all of Ballinger.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17 from 8:00 to 9:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 18 at 2:00 pm in Old Runnels Cemetery near Ballinger.
