Jewel Otelia O'Neal

Jewel Otelia O'Neal, 86, of Ballinger passed away on Friday evening, January 20, 2012 at Angelo Community Hospital.

She was born April 20, 1925 in Runnels County to Haden Key and Zula Otelia (Walden) O'Neal. She graduated from Ballinger High School in 1942. She was a bookkeeper for King Holt Furniture and later for Sheppardsons before going to the First National Bank in Ballinger and working in the bookkeeping department until retiring in 1991.

Jewel was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alton Key O'Neal and a sister-in-law, Pauline O'Neal.

Survivors include her brother, Troyce O'Neal of Ballinger; niece, Diana Rozmen of Ballinger; nephews, Alton O'Neal, Jr. of Winters and Roger O'Neal of Burnet. Also surviving are great nieces and nephews, including her namesake Zoe Jewel McCall, and numerous cousins.

There will be a service of celebration at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Ballinger with Rev. Ferris Akins and Bro. Bobby Broyles officiating. Burial will follow at the Talpa Cemetery.
