Martha Gaylene Daniel

Martha Gaylene Daniel, 58, of Ballinger, Texas passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Gaylene was born July 17, 1953 in Colorado City, Texas. She grew up in Robert Lee and graduated from Robert Lee High School. She lived in Blackwell for six years and in Terlingua for 12 years where she worked as the manager at Cowboy Mining Company. For the remainder of her life she lived in Ballinger. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed doing cross-stitch, crocheting, and reading. She loved being outdoors and would spend most of her time outside.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Diane Cantrell.

Gaylene is survived by her parents, Buddy and Gayna (Brown) Eldred of Oak Creek Lake; a daughter, Sharla Carper of Rowena; and a brother, Steve Eldred and wife, Syndi, of Lula, Georgia; and grandchildren, Shayla Walker, Kayla Carper, and Joshua Schaefer. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Isais and Jaylen Hernandez, and Braygon Walker; nieces and nephews, James Cantrell, Stephanie Holland, Gayna Loveday, Brittany Elliott, and Steve Allen Eldred; special friends, Colleen Coleman, Debbie Nance, and Brenna Smith.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 15 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 16 at 10:00 am at Lange Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Broyles officiating. Burial will take place at Blackwell Cemetery in Blackwell. Serving as pallbearers will be Adrian Sizer, Cody Walker, Carlos Cavazos, Steve Eldred, Jimmy Holland, and James Cantrell. The family encourages everyone attending to wear bright, colorful clothing.
