Josephine B. Beach

Josephine B. Beach, 86, of Fredericksburg and formerly of Rowena, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at her Fredericksburg home.

She was born February 8, 1926 in Laredo, Texas to Enrique C. and Josefa Garcia Benavides. She married Daniel Henry Beach on September 25, 1952 in Laredo where the couple raised their family and lived for many years. Josephine was employed as a legal secretary and worked in that position for almost 20 years with Fansler and Fansler in Laredo. Danny and Jo moved to the Rowena-Ballinger area, then lived in Fredericksburg the past few years to be closer to their children. Jo was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena and a member of the Altar Society and Christian Mothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband in 2010.

Josephine is survived by her daughters, Karen Beach and husband, Jon Krugh, of Fredericksburg and Janice Beach and husband, James Tilghman, of Louisiana; her son, David Beach and wife, Nancy, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; six grandchildren, Alex Garcia, Tyler Edmunds, Amy Robinson, Kristi Robinson, Samantha Beach and Nathaniel Beach; two great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and Catharine.

Rosary will be recited Monday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 19 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Disease Fund.
