Amalia Marie Saldaña of Ballinger passed away Monday, June 25, 2012 at Ballinger Memorial Hospital at the age of 62.
Also known as “Molly,” she was born January 12, 1950 in Ballinger, Texas to Danaciano and Anatalia (Picon) DeLaGarza. Her parents preceded her in death. She married Pedro “Pete” Saldaña on March 9, 1979 in Ballinger. She was a homemaker and was a very faithful, loving wife and mother. Her children were her pride and joy. She was a member of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Amalia is survived by her husband, Pedro, her son Albert Saldaña, both of Ballinger, and by her daughter, Sonia Saldaña of Abilene. Also surviving are eight sisters and brothers,
Josie Rodriguez of Houston, Ray DeLaGarza of Abilene, Olivia Patiño of Abilene, Margaret Castillo of Sacramento, CA, Connie Cutting of Michigan, Chano DeLaGarza of Abilene, Eva Soto of Sacramento, CA, and Johnny DeLaGarza of Abilene.
Rosary will be recited Thursday, June 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home Chapel in Ballinger. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 29 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ballinger with Father Hugh Wade and Deacon Enrique Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at the Latin-American Cemetery.
