Cecil Everett Bradshaw

Cecil Everett Bradshaw, 80, formerly of Ballinger passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring, Texas.

He was born February 14, 1932 in Whitney, Texas to Guy Everett and Florence Elizabeth (Nichols) Bradshaw. He graduated from Ballinger High School in 1950. Cecil enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1948 and honorably served 16 years in the military. While stationed in Fort Wainwright, Alaska, he ran a champion Husky dogsled team for the U.S. Army. After his retirement from the Army he attended ACU. He was employed with the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a federal meat inspector for several years. He enjoyed training German Shorthaired Pointers as excellent bird hunters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim Bob Bradshaw and Charles Eldred Bradshaw; and sister, Edra Horn.

Cecil is survived by his daughter, Barbara Mobley of San Angelo; son, David Bradshaw and wife, Cathleen, of Live Oak, and son, Charles Bradshaw of Austin; grandchildren, Matthew Johnson, Taylor Bradshaw, Wesley Mobley and James Mobley. Also surviving is a brother, John Bradshaw and wife, Pauline, of Ballinger; sisters, Avis Van Winkle of Rosebud, Arkansas, Barbara Rogers Atherton of Arkansas, and Nell Dorner of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service with military honors will be held Saturday, December 8 at 2:30 pm at Avenue B Church of Christ in Ballinger.
