Jose Guadalupe Gomez

Jose Guadalupe Gomez, age 85, of Ballinger, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at Angelo Community Center.

He was born April 11, 1927 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico to Martin and Rosa Hernandez. He married Rufina Estrada in 1947 in Mexico. He is preceded by his parents Martin and Rosa; a son, Baltazar Gomez, a granddaughter, Sandra Elizabeth Aviles, a grandson, Arthur Aviles, a grandson, John Henry Cuellar, and a granddaughter Veronica Cuellar.

He is survived by his daughters, Maria (Luz) Garcia and husband, Pedro, Alma Leticia Marines and husband, George both of Plainview, TX and Joelda Cuellar and husband John of Ballinger; and four sons, Jose Luis Refugio Gomez of Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico; Alonso Gomez and wife, Virginia, Hector Gomez, and Jamie Gomez of San Antonio, TX; and wife, Rufina of Plainview; Brothers, Juan Gomez and wife, Juana, Santos Gomez, and Crus Sara Gomez. Sisters, Alicia Gomez, Aurora Gomez, and Petra Gomez of Mexico; and grandchildren: Hugo, Laura, Tony, Veronica, Susie, Ismael, Alonzo Jr., Marcos, Robert, Stephanie, Brenda, Angela, Ismael, Blanca, Lucy, Jose Louis, Alejandro, Cristian, Erika, Amanda, Gabriela, Esmeralda, Rebecca, Melinda, Gabe and Cari, and John Isaak, as well as numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Lange Funeral Home¬¬¬¬ at 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013

Funeral services will be at the 1st Baptist Church in Ballinger on 10:00 a.m. on Thursday January 10, 2013 with burial to follow in Latin American Cemetery.
