Also surviving is one brother, Jr. Hoffman and wife, Mary, of Bokoshe, Oklahoma; a special daughter-in-law, Priscilla Condra Burgeson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jean was born October 11, 1922 in Ballinger. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ballinger and was a loving homemaker devoted to her family. She filled the role of wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with expertise and joy.

The “lights” of her eyes were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They loved to go to her house in the country and ride the horses, pet the baby lambs and calves, and, of course, have the fried chicken and macaroni and cheese for lunch that was certain to appear on the table.

She worked as a nurses’ aid for several years and enjoyed her work a great deal—always helping others. She also stayed active about the ranch helping with feeding activities, especially when the weather was cold and bad.

Funeral services will take place on Sunday, February 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Ballinger with Rev. Buddy Moore officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
