Obituary for Shawn Evan Fuchs
Shawn Evan Fuchs of San Angelo left this world on February 25, 2013 as the result of a car accident near Uvalde Texas. He was born on January 2, 1960 in San Angelo to David Fuchs and Marceline Lange Fuchs. He joins many dear loved ones in Heaven: his mother Marceline; his grandparents Jody and Annie Fuchs; as well as Roman and Matilda Lange. Shawn will also be reuniting with his cousin Kevin Fuchs; his in-laws Charlie and Janie Wright, and Cleo “Bonca” and Manny Fowlkes; and uncles, Jerome (Dutch) Hoelscher, Ken Fuchs, and Gary Lange.

He was a graduate of Lakeview High School in San Angelo. He married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Elaine Wright, on June 21, 1980, and they had four amazing children: twins Monica and Joshua, then Jason and then Melissa (MJ) a little later.

Shawn worked for Western Summit Constructors of Denver, CO for the past 20 years and travelled for them from the West Coast all the way to the East Coast meeting hundreds of people along the way. He was loud and proud and no one ever forgot him. He mentored hundreds of people along the way and was the epitome of “teacher.” He loved to learn and never let his mind be any quieter than his booming voice and presence. There was NOTHING more important to him than FAMILY. You didn’t have to like what he wanted, but he did usually know best. He considered Olfen, TX to be his true home and that’s where he’ll be laid to rest because Monsignor Curtis always said, “The only way to Heaven is through Olfen.”

Shawn leaves behind his parents, David and Joan Fuchs of Olfen; his loving wife Elaine; daughter and family, Monica and Corey Gilbert of San Angelo and grandson Ty; son and family, Josh and Amelia Fuchs of San Angelo and granddaughters Sophia and Madison; son Jason Fuchs and Julia of Hastings on Hudson, NY; daughter Melissa (MJ) Fuchs of San Angelo; as well as sister Michelle Fuchs of San Angelo; aunts Bernice Fuchs and Annalene Hoelscher both of Rowena; uncles JB Fuchs and Ethel of Olfen, and Clinton Lange of Lubbock; sister-in-law Charlotte and Larry Johnson of San Angelo; brother-in-law Trey and Laura Wright of Flower Mound; nephews Wesley and his wife Shannon Klepac, Cody Klepac and Casey Klepac; and niece Rachel Wright. He also left behind so many loved ones, both family and friends that one could write a book.

Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 28 at Lange Funeral Home Chapel in Ballinger. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.

Shawn specifically asked that he not be mourned, so please wear your boots and jeans and celebrate Shawn Fuchs! Shawn, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle Shawn, the world is a better place because of you and YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE!
