Julie “Judy” Paske, age 90, of Ballinger passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at a local nursing center.
She was born Julia Herminia Hovorak on November 1, 1917 in Rowena, the fourth of nine children to Paul and Frances Hovorak. She married Ike Paske on June 17, 1939, and the couple had two sons, Richard and Donald. Judy made a life-long career of cooking hamburgers at both Jumbo Burger and Dairy Kreme.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her eight brothers and sisters, and by a son, Richard.
Judy is survived by her son, Donald and wife, Elaine, of Ballinger; grandchildren, Christi Langston and Robert; Ryan Paske; Michelle Rose and Dion; Julie Gray and Seth, all of Ballinger; and Jody Willborn of Kansas City, Missouri. Nine great-grandchildren also survive. Other survivors include sister-in-law, Helen Hovorak; Mary Paske Hollis; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends from Runnels County Rehab where she had made her home for the past six years.
Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, March 6 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Rowena Evergreen Cemetery.
The family extends special thanks to the Runnels County Rehab staff for six years of care and to Ballinger Memorial Hospital and Vista Care for care during final days.
