Donald Alvin Bicknell, 80, of Ballinger passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Ballinger Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 10, 1932 in Dawson, TX to George and Laura Mae (Sawyer) Bicknell. He grew up in Monahans and graduated from high school there in 1951. He played for the 1948 State Champion Monahans Lobo football team. He was a dedicated class member and only missed one of the Class of 51 reunions. Don was a very hard worker, a character, and lived life to the fullest. He married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn Windham in 1952. His profession of choice was plumbing. He enjoyed every aspect of the profession including the long hours and hard work.
Don was currently a member of the Church of Christ in Winters, TX. He attended regularly and tried to participate in all activities if possible/
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons, Edwin “Buba” and Ronnie.
Don is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Ballinger; son, Don Bicknell, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Toby Bicknell of Colorado Springs, CO, Lucas Bicknell of Charlotte NC and Brandon Bicknell of Houston, TX. Great grandchildren, Jackson and Tate Bicknell, a sister, Dorothy Andrews of Monahans and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
