Rhody Mae West

Rhody Mae West, 94, of Ballinger passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Triumph Hospital in San Angelo.

She was born December 5, 1913 in McCulloch County to Lonzoe and Francis Elizabeth (Brister) Butler.
On April 12, 1928 she married Rube Eldon West, and the couple raised ten children.
Mr. West preceded her in death March 19, 1981. She was a member of the Church of Christ and worked as a cleaning contractor.

Also preceding her in death were sons, Wayne, Delmon, Herman, and Gerald West and daughters, Arlinea Holleman and Wanda Chupe.

Rhody is survived by four daughters, Laverne Baker and husband, Mack, of San Angelo, Lois Smith, Virginia Hill and husband, Marion, and Bobbie Love and husband, Dwayne, all of Ballinger. Twenty-eight grandchildren and over 100 great and great great grandchildren also survive.

There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Saturday March 29, 2008 at Lange Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. West will beheld at 2:00 PM on Sunday March 30th at Lange Funeral Home Chapel with Dick Schultz, and Lynn Smith officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in the Old Runnels Cemetery with Jacob West officiating.
