Sue Gray

Janie Sue Gray, 69, of Ballinger, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 12, 2013.

Sue was born on June 14, 1943 in Ballinger to Ralph and Ruth (Bailey) Parker. She grew up in the Hatchel Community. She married Ray W. Gray on May 4, 1962. He preceded her in death in 1992.

She was employed by the Agricultural Stabilization and Conversation Service for 32 years, retiring in 1994. She enjoyed her job and especially enjoyed helping “her farmers”.

Sue spent her retirement traveling and helping raise her granddaughter. She was a member of Avenue B Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughter, Elesa Ocker and husband, Chris of Winters, one granddaughter, Abby Ocker, whom she cherished; a nephew, Dale Gray of Winters and many special cousins.

She is also survived by her devoted friend, companion, and “traveling buddy”, Terry Jones of Ballinger and his family. Her beloved dog, Missy also survives.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Avenue B Church of Christ with Max Pratt, minister of Ballinger Ninth Street Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery.
