Larry Joe “L.J.” Nitsch Jr., 25, of Ballinger passed away Wednesday, July 24 in Ballinger.
L.J. was born on September 2, 1987 to Larry Joe Nitsch and Lisa (Carson) Yates in Ballinger. He graduated from Winters High School and continued his education, earning an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement from South Plains College in Levelland. L.J. was a police officer with the Ballinger Police Department for three and half years.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Lucy Nitsch.
L.J. is survived by his mother, Lisa Yates and husband Alfred of Winters; his father; Larry Nitsch and wife Becky of Ballinger; fiancée, Jessie Horton; brothers, Joe “Bear” Nitsch and wife Kandice of Abilene, Garrett and friend, Brittney Pena, and Hayden Nitsch both of Winters; sister, Meagan Smith and husband Justin of Ballinger. Also surviving maternal grandparents, Walter Carson and wife, Carleen of Ballinger, Sandra Reeves of Abilene; nieces, Kendall and McKenna; nephews, Jace, Kaeden, and Brody; godparents, Juan and Adela Galvan.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 28 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Services will be Monday, July 29 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church in Ballinger. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Winters.
