Patricia "Patsy" Schaefer

Patricia “Patsy” Schaefer, 81, of Rowena passed away Sunday morning, August 18, 2013.

She was born on June 8, 1932 to Edwin and Otilia (Wilde) Moeller in Runnels County. Patricia married George Schaefer on October 3, 1956 in Rowena, Texas. They shared forty two years of marriage before George’s passing in 1998. She spent her days as a homemaker and mother to her four children. Patricia was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen. She was also an active member of the Christian Mothers organization.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Ben Moeller.

She is survived by her four children, Paula Schriedel and husband Randy of Helotes, Carolyn Engle and husband Darren of Paint Rock, Dwayne Schaefer and Richard Schaefer both of Olfen. Also surviving are grandchildren, Sarah Fuqua and husband Josh, Catherine Schriedel, Christopher Schriedel, Megan Gardner and husband Justin, Josh Schaefer, Clay Schaefer, and great-grandchildren, Nathan Fuqua and Caiden Gardner.

Services will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 24 at First Christian Church in Ballinger with Lynn Smith officiating. Following the memorial service, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen at 12:00 pm with Fr. Aerial Lagunilla celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation as well as the staff at Ballinger Hospice and all the nurses that have cared for Patricia over the past eight years. Memorials can be made to Ballinger Senior Citizen Center or a favorite charity.
