Harold Henry Halfmann

Harold Henry Halfmann, Sr., 89, of Ballinger, died early Sunday morning, September 8, 2013 at the Central Texas Nursing and Rehab.

He was born March 15, 1924 in Durango, TX to Otto J. and Minnie M. (Gregor) Halfmann. He served proudly with the US Army during WW II and while serving he married Pearl Hennecke in Olfen, Tx on September 12, 1945. They were just a few days away from celebrating 68 yrs of marriage.

Harold was a self employed home builder. He was a member of St. Mary Star of the Seaa Catholic church in Ballinger and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, joining in Olfen when he was 18 yrs old. He was also a member of the VFW.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elizabeth Urbanek; 4 brothers, Edward, Herbert, Ray, and Leonard; and a daughter-in-law, Connie.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl of Ballinger, and three sons, Harold H. Halfmann, Jr. and wife, Joyce of Elkhart, IN, Michael Halfmann of San Marcos and Kenneth Halfmann and wife, Suzanne of Lubbock; ten grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Sisters-in-law, Genevieve Halfmann and Lena Halfmann also survive.

A wake service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Lange Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian celebration will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 11 at St Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Hugh Wade officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rowena.
