Julia Villarreal

Julia Villarreal, 87, of Ballinger passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

Julia was born May 31, 1920 to Modesto and Andrea Vara Maldonado. On October 18, 1942 she married Felipe S. Villarreal in San Angelo. She was a homemaker and loved gardening and music.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a son, Fidel Villarreal, in December 2004.

Julia is survived by her husband, Felipe S. Villarreal, Sr. of Ballinger; son, Felipe Villarreal, Jr. and wife, Linda, of Ballinger; and daughter, Nelida Herrera and husband, Humberto, of Saginaw, Texas. Also surviving are brothers, Martin Maldonado of California; Adolf Maldonado and wife, Erminia of Ruidoso, NM; Raymond Maldonado and wife, Anita, of Hobbs, NM; Roy Maldonado of Albuquerque, NM; and Jesse Maldonado of Odessa; sisters, Chavela Gonzales, of Llano; and Cora DeLeon of Hobbs, NM. Surviving grandchildren are Nathan and Shelly Villarreal of San Angelo; Stephen and Jennifer Ortiz of Heartland, Texas; David and Thursic Villarreal of Holiday, Florida; James and Amanda Herrera of Saginaw; Patrician Ann Villarreal of San Angelo, and Fidel Villarreal, Jr. of Ballinger. Great-grandchildren are Anthony Villarreal, Sasha Nicole Villarreal, Allysa Nicole Villarreal, D. J. Villarreal, R. J. Villareal, Sophia Olivia Ortiz, Aiden Conner Ortiz, and Anthony Fidel Villarreal.

There will be a prayer service and visitation on Friday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Seventh Street Baptist Church in Ballinger with Rev. Basillio Esquivel and Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
