Thomas “Rex” Bomar, 78, of Midland passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Midland Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 30, 1935 to Thomas and Donnie (Herring) Bomar in Santa Anna, TX. After graduating from Talpa High School, he attended Sul Ross University. Thomas married Patsy Berry and they shared 52 years together. They moved to Midland in 1967, where Thomas managed Yale E. Key Well Service, Midland Yard. He established WR Rental Tools Inc in 1980 and was president until his death and was a rancher in Coleman and Brownwood counties. Thomas enjoyed calf roping, steer roping, horse racing, hunting, and fishing.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy; sons, Randy and wife Claudia, Kennie and wife Sondra, Shayne and wife Terri, and Jackie Bomar; daughter-in-law, Kathy Della Rocco and husband Paul. Also surviving are grandchildren, Angela Bomar Cagle and husband JJ, son Coltin, Jennifer Bomar Constable and husband Justin, Steven Bomar and wife Erica, Mikel Bomar and wife Ricky, Christina Bomar Brown and husband Jimmy, and Brenda Bomar, as well as, numerous great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, October 18 at Talpa Cemetery.
