Ross Del Kennedy

Ross Del Kennedy of Scottsville, Texas, a loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on October 18, 2013 in Bossier City, LA after a brief illness. Born in Lubbock, Texas on August 17, 1937 to Riley and Edmae Kennedy, Ross grew up and attended schools in Houston, San Francisco, CA, and Shallowater, TX. He graduated from Adamson High School in Dallas where he met his sweetheart and spouse of 52 years, Sylvia McIntyre Kennedy. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Ross worked for Kodak in the microfilm industry and was relocated to Shreveport, LA in 1960. Later he worked and retired from the tax office of Caddo Parish in Shreveport. In 1975 the family relocated to a farm in East Texas near Marshall, known as 4-Bar-K and landmarked by a windmill, where he lived until his death. He is predeceased by his wife Sylvia and his mother and father. He is survived by his son and daughter-in- law, Joseph and Dianna Kennedy of Longview, Texas; daughter and son-in law, Tamara and Walter Lamb of Shreveport; grandchildren Katelyn Kennedy of Dallas, Michael Ross Lamb of Shreveport, Kendall Kennedy of Lubbock, Emmy Lamb of Shreveport, and Clayton Ross Kennedy of Longview; sisters Gail Brock of Levelland and Kay Hulen of Waxahachie and their spouses, children and grandchildren. He also left behind his trusted companion Bell, a black lab. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am on October 26, 2013 at Norwood Cemetery near Ballinger, Texas and officiated by David Rice of Crossroads Baptist Church. The family will host a luncheon for family and friends immediately after the service at the fellowship hall of First Methodist Church in Ballinger. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Shiloh-McCutcheon Cemetery Assoc., 9553 FM 1660, Hutto, TX 78734 or the Carl Farley Boys Ranch, PO Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174-0001.
