Dorine Schroeder

Dorine Schroeder, 90, of Ballinger, Texas passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008 in Midland.

She was born June 18, 1917 in Rowena to Henry and Frances (Hoch) Mazur. She married Harvey Schroeder on February 15, 1938 in San Angelo, and the couple farmed and ranched in Runnels County for many years. Dorine was a devoted wife and homemaker and a member of the Zoar Church of Christ in Rowena. She was in the Home Demonstration Club for over 50 years, was a member of the Women’s Guild of the Zoar Church and Woodmen of the World.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey, on April 28, 2007, and by a son-in-law, Roger Bains.

Mrs. Schroeder is survived by two daughters, Frances Dusek and husband, Donald, of Amarillo; and Karen Bains of Rankin. Also surviving are her granddaughter, Cheryl Dusek of Odessa; and grandson, Bradley Bains and wife, Cheryl, of Midland; and great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Phillips of Austin, and Ashley and Brensen Bains of Midland.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 30 at 2:30 p.m. at the Rowena Protestant Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation at the S.P.J.S.T. Hall in Rowena immediately following the service.
