Toshi Onodera Berry

Toshi Onodera Berry, 73, of Ballinger passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008 at her residence.

Toshi was born August 3, 1934 in Yokosuka, Japan to Totsushiro and Kiyo Onodera. On March 18, 1952 she married Charles Freeman Berry in Yohohami, Japan. Mr. Berry preceded her in death June 18, 1999. She received a master’s degree, was especially talented in floral art, and was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ballinger and the Order of Eastern Star. Friends and acquaintances remember Toshi as genuinely caring, always encouraging, and delightful in every way.

Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, seven brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her sons, Richard A. Berry of Ft. Worth and Jimmy D. Berry of Ballinger. Also surviving are grandchildren, Heather, Kyle, Michael, Joe, Travis, Jacklyn, Stephanie, and Eric; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Taka Uehara of Japan; sister-in-law, Claudean Reynolds of New Jersey; and an aunt, June Curbo of Ballinger.

Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, May 31 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, June 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Ballinger with Rev. Joe Chamness officiating. Burial will follow in the Crews Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Lange Funeral Home. Guests may register at ballingerfuneralhome.com.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Lions Club Camp for the Blind.
