Toni Schroeder, 86, passed away November 18, 2013 at her residence in Lowake.
She was born January 17, 1927, to Joe and Julia (Clements) Willi in Lott, Texas. Toni married Ben Fred Schroeder on November 28, 1946 in Norton, Texas. They shared 60 years together before Ben’s passing on April 11, 2007. Toni worked for the US Census Bureau and Bryan Jewelers. She was an active member of Seventh Street Baptist Church in Ballinger. Toni was a charter member of the Lowake Home Demonstration Club. She was also a member of the Rowena VFW Auxiliary, the secretary of the Lowake Community Center for many years, an active member of the Paint Rock PTA while her children were in school, and served as treasurer of the Concho Valley Czech Heritage Society for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Carlton Willi, her parents, and her husband.
Toni is survived by her children; daughter, Karla Lambert and husband Don of Roanoke, Texas; and sons, Joe Schroeder and wife Debi of Ballinger; Ross Schroeder and wife Brigette of Christoval; and Paul Schroeder and wife Jennifer of San Angelo. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, November 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Services will be held at Seventh Street Baptist Church in Ballinger on Wednesday, November 20 at 10:00 am with Rev. David Dunn and Rev. Bill Swindler officiating. Burial will follow at Rowena Protestant Cemetery. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Hospice of San Angelo and all the family members who cared for Toni so lovingly. Memorials can be made to the Lowake Community Center, Hospice of San Angelo, Naomi's Village, or a favorite charity.
