Beaunita Virden

Beaunita Virden, 84 of Ballinger died Sunday December 8, 2013 at Central Texas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness.

She was born on May 8, 1929 in Ballinger to Fred and Lula (Brister) Tappee. Beaunita was employed by the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service for 12 years, with Dr. O.H. Chandler for two years, and served as a branch manager for Heart O’ Texas Savings and Olney Savings for 12 years. Following her retirement from Olney Savings, Beaunita worked part-time for the Runnels County Appraisal District for four years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother M.A. Walker.

Survivors include her husband Herman Virden of Ballinger, a son Tony Virden and his wife Wanda of Ballinger, two grandsons, Toby Virden and his wife Tammie Virden, and Todd Virden, all of Ballinger. Five great-grandchildren; Caleb, Corey, Caitlin, Dryden and Rainen Virden also survive.

A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 11 at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 11 at First United Methodist Church in Ballinger with Buddy Moore officiating. Visitation for family and friends will follow in the fellowship hall at the church. Honorary Pallbearers are: Mike Dankworth, Brad Williams, Will Byler, Lane Pinckney, Bill Bredemeyer, Keith Collom, Ben Parrish, Snooky Herring, Ralph Spreen, Bob Edington, Buddy Stokes, Luther Parker, Bob Vancil, and Joe Vancil.

Family request that memorials be made to West Texas Boys Ranch in San Angelo or a favorite charity.
