Delphine M. Kleman, 86, of Draper, Utah left this earth Saturday, December 14, 2013. She was born in Rowena, Texas on July 4, 1927, the daughter of Ben and Alma Eggemeyer.
Del graduated in March of 1948 from Seton School of Nursing in Austin, TX. Her career in nursing spanned 46 years, serving in many capacities—in doctors’ offices, hospitals, and as school nurse in Silverton, TX. She married LaVern Kleman in 1950 and lived in Tulia, TX until 1972, then moved to Brownwood, TX. LaVern and Del were divorced in 1978 and she never remarried. In 1999, she moved to Draper, UT to be close to her son and his family. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Draper, UT and served in numerous capacities within the church and local organizations to help the underprivileged. She had a heart for service and was always eager to help anyone in need.
She is survived by her son, Bill (Marilyn), and daughter, Sister Mary of the Angels (Jean), granddaughter, Dana Snyder (Matt), and great grandson, Jason Snyder, as well as her sister, Mary Ann Book. She was blessed with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Hubert, Victor, Arthur, and Erwin, and sisters, Olga, Benita, and Angela.
There will be a rosary and viewing at the Lange Funeral Home in Ballenger, TX Friday evening,
December 27th, at 6 PM. Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, TX at 10 AM on December 28th. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Afterwards, a luncheon will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Hall. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to a local homeless shelter of your choice.
