Jimmy Lee Fleetwood of Ballinger passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 at a San Antonio hospital at the age of 68.
Jimmy was born March 20, 1940 in Odessa, Texas to Jerry, Jr. and Mamie (Calhoun) Fleetwood. On July 1, 1977 he married Brenda Bissett Fulton in Odessa. He was employed by Muellers, Inc. as a truck driver for several years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ballinger. His hobbies and pastimes included working in his yard, raising flowers, and doing woodwork. He was deeply devoted to his family as husband, father, and grandfather. Jimmy also loved his dogs, “Hallie” and “Posey,” his good and faithful companions.
Mr. Fleetwood is survived by his loving wife, Brenda, of Ballinger; a son, Tim Fleetwood and wife, Pam, of Odessa; a daughter, Christy Ann Morgan and husband, Tom, of Bakersfield, CA; Melissa Anthony and husband, Melvin, of Ballinger; Donnie Fulton and wife, Rhonda, of Midland. Also surviving are a sister, Jerry Felts of Odessa; a half-sister, Maxine Killion of Odessa; and six grandchildren, Megan Fleetwood, Logan Fleetwood, Laura Anthony, Katy Anthony, Stephen Fulton, and Emily Fulton.
There will be a time of visitation for family and friends on Wednesday, June 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 19 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Ballinger with Brother Bobby Broyles officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Melvin Anthony, Donnie Fulton, Charles Waller, Rudy Garcia, Roeneal Boles, and Bobby Patton. Honorary pallbearers will be Adult III Sunday School Class members.
