Gary Kenneth Ferguson

Gary Kenneth Ferguson 77, of Horseshoe Bay, TX passed away on January 2, 2014. He was born September 20, 1936 in Ballinger Texas to S.L. and Thelma Ferguson. “Fergy” was a devoted and loving husband, father, papaw and friend.
Gary graduated from SMU in 1960; playing football all 4 years and then signed with the Cardinals. He was an avid football fan, loved golf (3 holes in ones) and hunting. Gary worked for H.J. Heinz Company for 30 years. He retired as General Manager of Grocery Sales, Heinz USA in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Horseshoe Bay, TX.
Gary is survived by his loving wife Virginia Fay Ferguson of 50 years, daughter Cheryl Leigh Abbott (Douglas), grandchildren C.J. and Ashleigh Abbott of Aubrey, TX; sister Queba James, Ballinger, TX and brother, Glen Ferguson (Gail), Chickasha, OK and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Gary Christopher and daughter Blyth Elise, parents Thelma and S.L. Ferguson, brother, William Ferguson, sisters Mary Minton and Barbara Rollwitz.
Services will be in Ballinger, TX Monday January 6, 2014 at 10:00am at First Baptist Church with visitation on Sunday night from 6-8pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger.
There will be a Memorial Service in Horseshoe Bay Saturday January 11 at 2:00pm at the Church of Horseshoe Bay.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to American Heart Association or charity of your choice.
