Edward Vinc Dusek, 96, of Lowake passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Angelo Community Hospital.
Ed was born December 24, 1911 in Lowake to Vinc, Sr. and Mary Ripple Dusek, a west Texas pioneer farming family. He married Johnnie Ruby Bownds November 18, 1934 in Lowake and he also farmed and ranched in the Lowake area of all his life. Some of his special ranching projects included grafting his own pecan trees, raising registered Texas Longhorns, and working to preserve the wildlife on his property. His long life and experiences provided endless stories that he related to his family and friends in true storyteller style.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 67 years, and several of his brothers and sisters.
Mr. Dusek is survived by his daughter, Eddie Carolyn Henry and husband, Denson of Bryan; grandchildren, Gaye Lynn Henry Seawright and husband, Jimmy of Valley Mills; DeAnna Gully and husband, Bruce of Veribest; Leah Cantrell and husband, Byron of Bryan; Adreon Denson Henry and Heather Brondy of Austin. Surviving great-grandchildren are John Weston Seawright and Emily Kaye Seawright both of College Station; Michael Edward, Miles E. and Macy Erica Gully all of Veribest; and Mason Cantrell of Bryan. Also surviving are two brothers, Willie Dusek of Lowake; Vinc Dusek, Jr. of Lowake, a sister, Irene Holubec of Melvin; a brother-in-law, Elvin Mathis of Abilene; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a time of visitation Thursday, June 26 from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. After the visitation a graveside service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. at Rowena Protestant Cemetery in Rowena with Pastor Juan Escalante officiating.
