Matthew Lynn “Matt” Harrison, 35, of Ballinger, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Brownwood, Texas as a result of a vehicle accident.

Matt was born September 16, 1978 in Abilene, Texas to Phil and Vickey (Prince) Harrison. He graduated from Ballinger High School in 1997 where he was active in sports and other school activities. Matt married his high school sweetheart, Courtney Lange, on July 22, 2000 in Ballinger. He was a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin where he also earned a MBA. Matt was a true Longhorn.

A genuine entrepreneur, Matt was known for his inner drive and excellent work ethic, as well as his friendly smile and pleasant personality. He was currently associated with the NAPA franchise in the Abilene area, expanding to other locations such as Austin. He was respected and well liked by those with whom he worked and came in contact. Matt’s best work, however, was as a devoted husband and father.

Matt is survived by his wife, Courtney, and his children, Emma and Zac of Ballinger; parents, Phil Harrison of Abilene and Vickey Harrison of Cedar Park; sister, Jennifer Choat of Cedar Park; nieces Kaitlin and Kennedy Adam of Cedar Park; nephews, Harrison Adam and Houston Choat of Cedar Park; a goddaughter, Audrey Brown of Ballinger, and grandmother, Billie Brown of Ballinger. Other extended family members also survive, as well as a host of classmates, associates, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Ballinger with Bro. Bobby Broyles and Rev. Buddy Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Ballinger Evergreen Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Awareness Foundation or a favorite charity.
