Effie Lee Andrews

Effie Lee Andrews, 81, of Ballinger passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 at her residence.

She was born June 5, 1932 to Rosie (Davis) Moore in Wharton County, Texas.  Effie was a dietician at the old Heritage Oak and Canterbury Villa Nursing Home for many years.  She married Wilson Andrews on September 11, 1982 in Ballinger.  They shared eighteen years together before his passing on January 28, 2001.  Effie was an avid cook and baker and loved nothing more than helping others.

Effie was preceded in death by her mother; brother, Lorenzo Taylor; son, Sylvester Taylor; and a grandchild.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Miree of Ballinger and Betty Battle and husband Theodore of Ballinger; her sons, M.J. Brown and wife Beth of Balch Springs and Sylvester Johnson of Ballinger.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, April 18 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 19 at New Life Refuge Church in Ballinger with Rev. Kenneth Plumley officiating.  Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
