Sylvester Johnson

Sylvester Johnson, 61, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

Sylvester was born November 26, 1952, in Wharton County, Texas. From 1972 to 1978, during the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country in the US Army. For several years he had worked as a ranch hand in the local area.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Effie (Davis) Andrews, on April 12, 2014.

Sylvester is survived by his sisters, Diane Miree of Ballinger; and Betty Battle and husband, Theodore, of Ballinger; and a brother, M. J. Brown and wife, Beth, of Balch Springs. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Ballinger.
