James Glen Mcfarland

James Glen McFarland, 87, of Saginaw, TX passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 in Keller, Texas.

James was born June 12, 1926 to John and Willie (Wood) McFarland on Gross Ranch in Ballinger, TX. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the 423rd Bombardment Squadron, serving in Italy and France, as an aerial photographer. On July 6, 1945, James married Norma Baker in Ballinger and they have enjoyed 68 wonderful years together. After his military service, James began his life long career as a rancher. He was also well known as a horse trainer and calf roper. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Kenneth McFarland.

James is survived by his wife, Norma of Saginaw; a daughter, Marcia Lyle of Keller; his granddaughter, Mandy Smith and husband Jason; and great-granddaughters, Regan and Siara.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Lange Funeral Home, in Ballinger, on Wednesday, May 28 at 9:30 am. A graveside service will follow at Old Runnels Cemetery, in Ballinger, at 11:00 am.
