Agnes Anna Fischer Parker

Agnes Anna Fischer Parker, 91, of Ballinger passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Central Texas Nursing and Rehabilitation in Ballinger.

She was born March 1, 1923 in Olfen, TX to Wilhelm and Isabella (Halfmann) Fischer. After high school, she attended beauty school and became a beautician. It was a life long career for Agnes; she worked in Ballinger, San Angelo, Kansas and Nebraska. On February 4, 1958, Agnes married Chester Boyd Parker, Sr. She was a devoted member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger, serving on the St. Mary Altar Society for many years.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Magdalen (Mickey) Harris and Venita Bagwell; brothers, Roy Fischer and Alton Fischer, Sr.; and son-in-law, Robert Wayne Bowen.

She is survived by her daughters, Georgean Dove and husband Jerry of Llano, TX and Sharon Lee Bowen of Ballinger; son, Chester Parker, Jr. and wife Kay of Corsicana, TX; sisters, Mary Frances Williams of Snyder, Laurene Goetz of San Angelo, Lucille Rhomfeld of Ballinger, and Willa Mae Briley of San Angelo; brother, Willie Hugo Fischer, Jr. of Grape Creek; and very special friend, Anita Schaefer of Ballinger; her grandchildren, Wille Lee Covington and wife Libby, Beth Bowen, Chrysti Cate, George Michael Dove and wife Laurie, Bobby Don Dove and wife Amy, Travis Parker, and Mason Parker. Agnes is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and 37 nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday, June 13 at Lange Funeral Home Chapel in Ballinger. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 14 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger with Fr. Hubert Wade celebrating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Ballinger. The family request memorials be made to St. Mary Altar Society, Ballinger Volunteer Fire Department, or a favorite charity.
