Connie Sue Havlak

May 9, 1956 — July 2, 2014

Connie Sue Havlak, 58, of Miles, Texas went to join her son, Jason, in heaven on July 2, 2014. She lost the battle with lung cancer that she fought valiantly for two years. She passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends.

Connie was born May 9, 1956 to W.C. and Lydia (Cernoch) Dieringer in Seminole, Texas. When she was six weeks of age, the family moved to Albuquerque, NM where her dad’s job transferred them. They returned to San Angelo after two years, and Connie began her school years at Fairview Elementary. She graduated from Wall High School in 1974. On November 16, 1974 she married Harvey Havlak of Miles. They were blessed with two children, the late Jason Havlak and Brandee Havlak McKee. Connie began her career in the medical field at St. John’s Hospital. She attended Howard College where she received her associate’s degree in Health Information Management in 1994. Following graduation, Connie began working in Medical Records at Shannon Hospital. She loved her position as assistant director and thought of her director and co-workers as family.

Connie was an amazing lady. Not only was she a loyal wife and supportive mother, she was the best “CoCo” Taylin could ever have. She loved spending as much time as she could with Taylin, teaching her how to garden and cook. Connie also enjoyed camping, shopping, and crafting. She was always willing to lend a helping hand when it came to activities within the community. She is leaving behind many close friends who she cherished. Connie had a heart of gold and impacted many people in a special way. “The one thing the family will miss most about Connie is EVERYTHING.” (quote by Harvey Havlak)

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Jason.

Connie is survived by her husband, Harvey; daughter, Brandee Havlak McKee and husband, Blake, of Granbury; granddaughter, Taylin McKee of Granbury; two sisters, Charlene Dusek (Eugene) of Wall, and Lillian Dusek (Billie Ray) of San Angelo; and brother, Wilbert Dieringer Jr. (Linda) of St. Lawrence.
